Still a while longer until spring but I'm already getting together my wardrobe inspiration!! xx…
A few weeks backs I mentioned the collaborative jewellery project I was working on with STILNEST, a 'Berlin based publishing house for 3D printed designer jewellery' and it's ready for you! We launched it just last week and you can check out the full collection here.
As the title quite bluntly puts it, I did in fact find a decent wall to take some of my outfit pictures against. Here's me testing it with a look that I wasn't planning on shooting for the blog but did anyway.
It's been circulating ALL of my social media platform feeds ALL week, the news that Dolce & Gabbana's line of abbayas and scarves is set to release October 2016, so it's only polite for me to address it I suppose! I feel like I should be happy, ecstatic even, perhaps eternally grateful? That's what seems to be the general reaction to this news so far. But, I can't help but feel incredibly underwhelmed, possibly even a tiny bit insulted by the collection.
Ignore my socket plug things, this is me using my wall for outfit pictures when it's too dark and rainy to take them outside. UK bloggers you know what it's like. Onto outfit details, 'those levis that give you thighs' is what comes to mind. Not that I needed anymore thighs, however I've been waiting to wear these high waist levis vintage jeans ever since getting pregnant and my bump arrival.
Recently I teamed up with DOCSNEAKER to show you how to style the latest in kicks. I've been trying to get my hands on the nike air max 1 sand patch babies forever, they're pretty limited and so I was unsuccessful in my endeavours, until DOCSNEAKER hooked me up. Yaaaas.
Tom Ford BEAUTY were kind enough to send me some new products to try and review for you, and of course I snapped up the chance because A) Tom Ford and B) MAKE UP YAY. All in all the 'extreme mascara', the 'eye defining pen', nail lacquer in 'bordeaux lust', the 'brow sculpting kit' & the 'violet fatale' lip colour. Of course I had a little play around with everything, set my camera on self timer
DIY This look's all about that tweedy waterfall waistcoat we made together in my most recent youtube video. In case you missed it, I'll stick it down the bottom of this post so you can find out how to make your own.
How'd you like pink? I like it, I like it A LOT. Especially when it's dusted pink, in fact dusted anything I love. I also love these textured HM scarves I can't seem to stop wearing, btw they've just released a new maroon/copper colour (I'll be posting a look with it soon obvs).
I've been a sneaky little lady and haven't told you anything about the jewellery line I've been working on the last couple of months. Sorry. The name KUCHI FRILLS Inspired by nomadic traditions and culture. It's just launched and I'm letting you know now. We're working with sterling silver and gemstones & will be bringing in some gold and rose gold plated pieces very soon too.
February 2015 I launched my debut clothing collection 'Dina Torkia' now sold out Hamdulilah. I spent a year working on with my husband Sid, back and forth to indonesia monitoring the manufactering process and working on the media for the launch of the collection. I've just come across some BTS shots that Alessia Gammaorta (photographer…
I've come across the term 'postnatal depression' also known as 'postpartum depression' so many times, and more during my pregnancy than ever. Skimming through various info snippets here and there on all the pregnancy and maternity websites that I found myself glued to on most nights during my third trimester! Never really giving it much thought,…
A while back I filmed and put together a little DIY tutorial on how to make a basic maxi kaftan kimono for beginners. A very basic & hopefully easy step by step guide on making this super versatile wardrobe staple to add to your wardrobe! Below you can see me styling mine..
I'm back! Okay that was a short sentence, in case you hadn't noticed I haven't posted on my blog for MONTHS now. Basically, MONTHS ago I closed it down in the hopes of bringing it back with a fresh look a couple of weeks later.. that then turned into several weeks, which turned to a month and then the most part of a year! In between all of that, I fell pregnant and forgot about it completely!
I mentioned in one of my recent posts about doing a little style shoot with Liberty London, and it happened! 'About a week agoooo' actually, so this post I'm simply sharing a few of the pics!
Slowly getting a little sick of colours. It happens every once in a while, and when you see the black wave below, you know it has indeed, happened. 'The getting sick' that is. It's also surprisingly quite warm pairing jersey midi skirts with thick tights you know, compared to my baggy jeans anyway. Nothing special coming at you today, just a plain black handy look suitable for many of us accustomed to dressing 'modestly'.
It's not a colour I'd usually consider for a coat, but when you find something in the SALE, it sort of changes your rules a little. I'm talking about this very PINK and VERY creased coat I picked up in H&M over the xmas holidays! Why I didn't iron this I'm yet to provide an excuse. It does look larger than the usual oversized even, but then again it is a size 18. You know what I'm like when it comes to getting things WAY too big. Even so, it's keeping me warm so far all the way down to my ankles. So I'm not even slightly worried about the extra pair of hips it's giving me in pictures!
So if you watch my youtube videos you'll know what this post is about, and be equally EGG CITED with me! Recently I had the most perfect opportunity come along my way to collaborate on a little styling project with LIBERTY LONDON. I was super excited, for reasons that are so obvious they do not need explaining, hah! No seriously, my sister and I LOVE Liberty and their fabric prints, so what perfect combination than to style one of their printed scarves! I filmed two turban looks with one of their ICONIC LIBERTY print scarves, specifically the Hera design, an a array of classic peacock feathers in gorgeous pink and blue hues.
