February 2015 I launched my debut clothing collection ‘Dina Torkia’ now sold out Hamdulilah. I spent a year working on with my husband Sid, back and forth to indonesia monitoring the manufactering process and working on the media for the launch of the collection.  I’ve just come across some BTS shots that Alessia Gammaorta (photographer took for me & I thought I’d let you guys in to the chaos of what goes on behind the scenes of a fashion shoot.

The reason we chose to manufacture in Indonesia is because we are quite familiar with it, having travelled there a few times for various events and work related projects. Indonesia’s textile industry is huge and every corner of every city there is a boutique manufaturer or a larger industrial one. So we had the option to start my clothing line without having to go huge and order in ‘china’ quantities, seemed practical at the time!

We learned a whole lot during the process and now I’m slowly beginning toget started on work for my first official clothing collection, here in the UK.

Mashallah, I’m really grateful that you exist. I remember when I saw you on youtube as a beginner youtuber and instantly followed you since I loved, not only, your style, but your confidence. I think you’re a role model for so many girls struggling with their hijabs, and an inspirational to keep going no matter what. I pray that you’re in the best of health, and that you continue on this journey. <3 <3

Hey Dina, congratulations for your hardwork 🙂 i am really interested on your collection and it will be amazing if you can open a local shop here in Indonesia (considering the manufacturing process takes place here).

Dina! CONGRATULATIONS from all my heart 🙂
I’m different from you in many aspects (not a muslim, not a mum, not a makeup wearer) but similar in many others (love cats, married to a very special man, love for vintage levi’s..). On a human level I relate to you a lot. Also your style is fantastic. I work in a thights and leggins shop, and have to wear tight legwear and thin tops at work. The few times I have free time and not wearing jammies, all I wish is to wear flowy clothes that make me feel beautiful. Wider pants, flowy long tops, and my hair out of my face. That’s ME. And that happens to be how you dress! I know you do it to also coincide with your faith, but your turban and clothes are my vision of great style.
I also admire you for your entrepreneurship. I’m a seamstress and a decorator but I just can’t work in my professions because I’m paralized by the idea of disappointing people/clients with my work, not being good enough.
I hope i’ll be able to somehow buy your clothing Line somewhere.
All the best to you and your family from Switzerland.

You are a remarkable young woman and I think you are great!!!!! I only began studying Islam before my marriage to my crazy Egyptian husband 7 years ago…..I have had my head covered since then, but I am now 53 years old, you are light years younger. I love your styles. How about a line for the more, ahem, “rounded”, women out here who dont want to be stuck in an abaya but cannot get the right western dress to be stylish, yet modest??????? Its not just you pups who like to look good, the old dog does too. Lol. Help us Dina please!!!!!! May Allah send you a million blessings girl.
